Tip-PaperCut Balance Check

Printing & Checking Available Balance in PaperCut

Printing is one of the many services the library provides for EVMS students, residents, faculty and staff.  There are black & white and color printers in the Library's Computer Lab, Classroom, Lewis Hall Student Center, and Waitzer Hall.

Library printing is managed by two primary systems:

  1. Mobility Print manages print drivers for all EVMS network connected devices.  There is setup wizard here:
    http://studentprint.evms.net:9163/setup
The Network Information Center is your best resource for setup assistance on your personal device.
  2. PaperCut tracks use and available balance.  All eligible EVMS user groups are automatically added to PaperCut.

EVMS associates are given a printing balance of $200 per year from the library. This allows for 2000 black & white pages which, for most students is more than enough.  If your account balance drops below $5, you will receive a low balance notice from PaperCut. Those who exceed their annual allowance will be charged and receive a monthly balance statement.

e.g. If using Chrome, click "Advanced" button and the "Proceed to plagueis.evms.net (unsafe)" link.
  3. Logon using EVMS credentials
  4. PaperCut balance summary is on first page
  5. To see a more detailed print history click "Recent Print Jobs" in left menu.  Note that by default PaperCut filters print jobs to show only the previous two weeks. Change filter by clicking "Filter on" button and change date in "Between dates" field.
