Housekeeping teams are cleaning and disinfecting Library spaces daily and nightly; with special attention to high touch areas such as tables, carrels, light switches and doorknobs throughout the day. Available from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), COVIDWISE is the first app in the US to use the Exposure Notification System from Apple and Google to help stop the spread of the virus. Your privacy is protected by using Bluetooth Low Energy technology instead of personal data or location tracking to notify you if you’ve recently spent time near another app user who has tested positive for COVID-19. .

This guide provides information on the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), formerly referred to as 2019 novel coronavirus and 2019-nCoV, which causes respiratory illness in people and can spread from person-to-person. It is one of the rare coronaviruses that originated in an animal, infected one or more person(s), and then spread between people. It was first identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.
