Welcome

In order to use the UpToDate mobile app or full suite of online resources off campus we first need to associate your UpToDate account with the ODU Brickell Library license agreement. NOTE: This process needs to be done once every 90 days.  UpToDate will send out renewal reminders.

Before you begin know that UpToDate requires two accounts to access

  1. ODU institutional account
  2. Personal UpToDate account (described in step 6 below)

To begin access

  1. Go to the ODU Brickell Library webpage using any browser.
    https://www.odu.edu/library/medical-sciences-library
  2. Click “Find Quick Links” button
    https://evms.libguides.com/bmsl/quick
  3. Under the “Clinical databases” section heading choose UpToDate
    https://evms.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://www.uptodate.com/contents/search?unid=^u&srcsys=EZPX123887
This proxied link lets UpToDate know you are affiliated with EVMS.
Note: if you receive a message:We're sorry, but you do not have access to this resource. Due to separate vendor licensing agreements, the e-resource collections differ...
    Use this alternative link:

Troubleshooting

Duplicate Accounts

UpToDate cannot merge two currently active accounts. If you encounter an error when trying to merge, the only solution is to allow one of the accounts to expire first, and then attempt the merge.

To ensure your CME credits are not lost during this process, we highly recommend you contact UpToDate Customer Service before letting an account expire.

  • Email: customerservice@uptodate.com
  • Phone: 1-800-998-6374 (Monday–Friday, 7 AM to 9 PM ET)
